I’m an American woman and I’m proud of my county and I love it so
much, like every one in the world. So, the last summer I had traveled to
Morocco and by coincidence during my travel in morocco I met a very nice and
kind Moroccan couple that show us, me and my family some magical secrets places
in their beautiful country and also they invited us and prepare to us their traditional
delicious foods.
They were very kind we loving them me and my family, then we are
friends now, So Saturday they tell me, they planning to visit America this
summer after lockdown, of course we invited them to visit us when they coming,
and of course I decide to prepare them an American Flag Berry Slab Pie, like welcome to America by foods
mean haha!

The origin of American Flag Berry Slab Pie!
This American Flag Berry Slab Pie is
an old famous recipe on the national American holidays, I remember when I’m
young my mama makes it in every national holiday, and now also I make it in every
national holiday to my kids, and now I decide to serve it to my guests, to have
fun and enjoy the moments with our friends, I hope to have inspired you too!
What is the perfect time to serve it?
It’s good and delicious you can eat it any time you deserve it, but
is great like a breakfast at the morning or like a dessert after lunch or
dinner, And for me I recommend to eat it like a snack at the evening, and is
preferable to take it with smoothies or lemon juice.

American Flag Berry Slab Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
Pie
Crust
1 Tbsp Granulated Sugar (12 g)
1 ¼ tsp Sea Salt
1 ½ cups Unsalted Butter cubed and cold (339 g)
¾–1 cup ice cold water (177–237 mL)
4 cups Unbleached White All-Purpose Flour spooned and leveled (536
g)
Strawberry-Raspberry
Filling
⅔ cup Granulated Sugar (128 g)
⅓ cup Cornstarch (50 g)
3 Tbsp Lemon Juice (45 mL)
1 Tbsp Lemon Zest
2 lb fresh Strawberries, hulled and quartered (907 g)
1 lb fresh Raspberries (453 g)
Blackberry-Blueberry
Filling
¼ cup Granulated Sugar (48 g)
2 Tbsp Cornstarch (50 g)
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice (15 mL)
1 tsp Lemon Zest
1 ¼ cups fresh Blueberries (170 g)
⅔ cup Fresh Blackberries (85 g)
To
Finish
1 Egg (56 g)
1 Tbsp Sparkling Sugar (18 g)
1 tsp Heavy Whipping Cream
Instructions:
Add purpose flour, sugar, and salt in the bowl of a stand blender
fitted with the paddle attachment, and mix too low to combine.
Spread the cold butter over the flour mixture. Turn the blender to
medium and mix until the butter becomes the size of peas. Then stream in the
ice-cold water, blending just until the mixture comes unitedly.
Practice your hands to eliminate the dough from the bowl and knead
lightly to immediately form it inside a disk. Set aside one-quarter of the
dough for the decor, and form both pieces in rounds. Cover in plastic cover and
place it in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Pre-heat the oven to 350°. Fill the bottom of a 13 x 18-inch
rimmed sheet pan with paper. Set and wait aside.
Push out the larger disc of dough from the freezer. Gently flour
your work surface. Use a rolling pin to smoothly roll the dough to 14 x 18
inches and extended over the prepared pan. Wrap the dough over along the edges
to form an even crust. Cut dough applying a fork.
To blind-bake the base you must include mixture with parchment
paper and pack with rice or pie weights. Bake for 30 minutes, lifting parchment
paper and weights after 25 minutes. Bake until the crust is gently cooked.
Remove from the oven and let fresh while you make the fillings. Set the oven up
to 425°F.
Fillings
Use a spoon to toss and combine all the ingredients for the
strawberry-raspberry filling in a medium mixing bowl, set and wait aside.

Crust Decorations
Gently flour your work surface already again and go out the left
round of dough to ¼ inch thick and 17 inches deep.
You will need two strips that are 17 x 1 inch, and two strips that
are 10 x 1 inch, to cut out the stripes.
To cut out 12 stars, use a star-shaped 1-inch cookie cutter
Use the leftover dough to roll a long rope of mixture that’s 13
inches long. This will be the limit for the stars part.
